Planteome Curator Workshop Nov. 2015- Corvallis, Oregon

Ontology Curation and Data Annotation

Dates: Week of Monday, Nov. 9th to Friday Nov. 13th, 2015

Location: Oregon State University

The goals of the workshop are to train data curators and bioinformatics specialists on the development and adoption of common data standards. With special emphasis on our international partners and collaborators working on globally important agricultural crops, the workshop will provide the opportunity to learn and discuss a common goal of development, adoption and integration of common standards and vocabulary to describe plant characteristics. Datasets generated by numerous centers and projects in the US and world-wide when annotated with common standards will help in their comparative analysis.

The workshop will provide an opportunity and hands-on experience on how to use these common standards in the annotation of data generated by your center’s projects on plant breeding studies, and variety evaluation screens.
